Game Recap: NPHS Defeats Pennsbury (MaxPreps.com)

FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa. - North Penn (Lansdale, Pa.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 21 points, drop to 10 before the final whistle blew on a 31-21 victory over Pennsbury (Fairless Hills, Pa.). After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the second quarter, the Knights led 13-7 at the half. North Penn expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. NP scored four times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown. The loss came as a shock for the Falcons, who entered the game ranked No. 2 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Pennsylvania, while the Lansdale school was ranked No. 32. Pennsbury came in giving up 10.4 points per game this season. The defeat comes as a step back for Pennsbury, which notched a 55-20 victory over Upper Darby in its previous outing.

DISTRICT 1 DOINGS
Is there a hotter team in District 1-AAAA than North Penn? The Knights defeated defending district champ Coatesville 31-0 in Friday's first-round game, improving coach Dick Beck's record to 11-0 in district openers. North Penn has won eight in a row since an 0-3 start and will visit third seed Pennsbury (10-1) in a quarterfinal that will seem more like the District 1 final.
